When I ask Olivia not to do something she responds with, "Okay, Mama. Watch this!" and then does exactly what I asked her not to do. Then when I say to her, "Olivia, I asked you not to do that," she says, "Sorry, Mama," but I'm pretty sure she isn't.
Olivia is really in touch with her emotions. When she doesn't want to do something she's been asked to do, she crosses her arms, makes a pouty face, and says, "I'm too mad." Lately she's branched out to, "I'm too sad." Fortunately, this doesn't last. After a while she says, "I feel better." Of course, that doesn't mean she's going to do what she didn't want to do before she got mad or sad. And she's quite often "too busy" or "too tired" to comply. At nap time she says, "No, I play."
"Too tired" to pick up her toys.
While all of this is pretty cute, it gets really frustrating too, sometimes. However, it's significantly outweighed by this: "I au jus, Mama." ("I love you, Mama.") I couldn't ask for anything sweeter than hearing her say those words. When I got Olivia up this morning, she put her arms around my neck and said, "I so happy." So am I!

That is so so so so sweet. I love those moments when my kids express their love for me.
Oh, boy, kids are so cute and so exasperating!!
I don't mind at all. And we should get Olivia and Reese together because when I ask her not to do something, she does it anyway, looking right at me and laughing. Those two could do some serious damage together.
I love it! Their love is unconditional.
There is just no way that you could get mad at her...she is too funny and cute! You are so good to write some of these down too. It is amazing how quickly you forget some of the regular day to day conversations that take place! Kate says thanks for the clothes, cousin!
