Baby Yet?

When I picked Olivia up from preschool today, she asked me, "Do we have our baby yet?"  When I told her that we didn't have a baby yet, she said, rather tearfully, "But, Mom, I want a baby now."  You and me both, kid!  It's difficult to explain to a four-year-old how all of this works.  She knows that on Saturday I was contacted by an expectant mother who expressed interest in our family.  She knows that I gave this mother Alyssa's (Olivia's birth mom) phone number so she could talk to her, to check us out further.  So I guess she assumed that after a couple calls were made (as of tonight, those calls haven't been made), voila--we'd have a baby.  If only things were that easy for everyone involved...
