Olivia is loving school! She especially enjoys when they get to go outside for recess. The first day of school it was 116 degrees when I picked her up. They'd had to have indoor recess because it was so hot, and she wasn't happy about it. Since then, I think they've been allowed to go out for recess. We could start our own sandbox with all the sand I've been dumping our of her shoes each day.
Olivia doesn't seem to mind wearing a uniform to school, although she has noticed that there is shocking lack of pink. She has pointed out to me that at least she has pink stripes on her shoes. She is very concerned about when her cousin Kate starts school and won't get to wear pink.
So far, the homework has been a piece of cake, or as Oivia says, "easy as pie." She's memorized her first recitation like a pro and also quotes Spaulding handwriting jargon. I hope she will continue to enjoy school (and bring home less sand).

I understand her distress over the "shocking lack of pink", but for me it would be purple. Thanks for all sharing all the pictures with us.
