For Valentine's Day, Brigham and I got her some balloons. The latex ones soon bit the dust, but the mylar balloon is still with us. (Who knew they lasted so long?) It has a really long ribbon on it, so she can easily reach it in spite of our 10' ceilings. A couple nights ago, the balloon had not one, but two, run-ins with a ceiling fan. It didn't pop, but the ribbon got a little hashed. As a result, Olivia can no longer reach the balloon without standing on a stool. She's been carrying a stool around the house in order to retrieve her balloon. Imagine her surprise when she could reach it when it was in her bathroom, where I put it to keep it safe from ceiling fans. She didn't think she had grown overnight, just that she's taller in her bathroom than in any other room in the house. She's definitely closer to the ceiling in there, but it probably has more to do with the dropped ceiling than a suspension of reality.
In any case, I love the way she thinks. And I love that she was so excited about being taller in her bathroom.
