Olivia likes to tell people things.
One of her current themes is All About My Dad. Brigham's mom visited us for a few days a couple weeks ago. As soon as we got into the house after picking Grandma up at the airport, Olivia began a tour. She showed Grandma everything and explained everything--as if she'd never been to our house before.
After the tour was over Olivia watched Grandma unpack while I made lunch. I heard Olivia telling Grandma, out of the blue, "My dad sits in a chair all the time. He has wheels." As if Grandma didn't know that!
She seems to be gaining a greater awareness that Brigham uses a wheelchair. She doesn't seem to think it's weird. He's her dad and he's always sat in a chair (and had wheels) as far as she knows. Perhaps she thinks it's her mission to let other people know that her dad has wheels. Starting with him. "No, Dad, you don't stand up. You just sit down." "Dad, you don't run. You have wheels." She takes full advantage of those wheels when they go on their after dinner walks. The dog is the only one walking; Olivia likes to ride on the back of Daddy's chair.
July 2010. Teaching Dad how to use his phone.
Below is a picture Olivia drew yesterday.

When I asked her to tell me about it, she said, "This is you and this is Daddy." I'm on the left. Me: "Oh, am I wearing a hat?"
O: "No, Mom, that's your hair." Yeah.
O: "I drew this circle around Daddy." (To sit in perhaps?) "And these are his wheels."
I think we look pretty good, even if I do have Marge Simpson hair. We both look very happy.

I love your recent posts. Olivia's too cute!
I bet G'ma enjoyed the tour!
I'll have to show Troy the Marge Simpson hair. That's funny.
Can Olivia come teach me how to use my phone?
So glad to see you've been posting again...I should have checked earlier! I love the Olivia stories, especially the country drawl!
